Beechcraft C-45 Expeditor
by Timothy Paul Smith Photography
Print Description:
The C-45 Expeditor was a military plane used in World War II. It was based on the popular commercial Beechcraft Model 18. Beech made 4,526 of these planes for the Army Air Forces between 1939 and 1945. There were four versions: AT-7 Navigator (used for navigation training), AT-11 Kansan (used for bombing and gunnery training), C-45 Expeditor (used as a utility transport), and F-2 (used for aerial photography and mapping). Many WWII navigators and bombardiers trained in the AT-7 and AT-11. Thousands of AAF pilot cadets trained in twin-engine Beech planes too.
