Timothy Paul Smith is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native with a deep-rooted passion for aviation, ignited by his father’s service in the United States Navy with the Airborne Early Warning Squadron VW-13. Inspired by his father’s stories, Tim’s fascination with aviation grew from building model aircraft and voraciously reading about aviation. His passion was solidified during an air show where he first witnessed the breathtaking flight of two F4 Phantoms. From that moment, his eyes were set on the sky.
After a long and successful career in the chemical industry, Tim made the bold decision to pursue photography full-time. His primary focus is aviation photography, but his expertise spans various fields, including landscape, architecture, professional sports, special events, commercial and residential real estate, and corporate and personal portraits.
With over 30 years of experience, Tim’s journey began with a Canon 35mm T-50 camera and has evolved into a dedicated career in the digital age, always in pursuit of the perfect image.
Tim is also a husband to Jennifer and a proud dad to a spirited Labrador named Jack.

A Message from Tim:
Welcome, and thank you for visiting! I’m excited to share a bit about myself with you. Photography has been a passion of mine for many years, and in March 2019, I made the bold decision to leave my career in the chemical industry and pursue photography full-time. It was both the scariest and best decision I’ve ever made.
Through this site, I aim to share my journey and experiences as I travel and capture images. You’ll find a diverse collection of my work, including aviation, landscape, architecture, historical sites, and various points of interest. While my primary focus is on aviation, you’ll also find a touch of “lagniappe”—a little something extra in true Louisiana style.
My goal with this website is to present images that transport you to different moments in time and highlight details that resonate with you. I hope my work not only captivates but also moves you in some way.
I welcome and encourage your feedback. If you’re looking for a specific image, have any questions, or simply want to share your thoughts, please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for your interest and support. I hope you enjoy exploring my images as much as I enjoy capturing and sharing them with you.
Respectfully,
Tim
